Job Title: Assistant 2 (Evaluation) 

Contract Type and Duration: Unspecified Time Contract

Reporting to: QAQC SUPERVISOR.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • The purpose of the role is to conduct sampling and drilling activities related to DD and RC drilling operations and activities in support of the evaluation superintendent to achieve the set targets.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) and/or a Certificate or Diploma in Geology

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of working experience in geology, QAQC/geomet activities, and other geologically related activities

 

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to the minimum safety standards, e.g., PPE requirements such as gloves, safety glasses, etc., conducting TAKE 5, participating in Hazard Identification, and reporting.
  • Sample collection from the field and submission to or from assay laboratories/MSPU as per standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure sample collection and labeling at the field site are correct and that problems are identified and rectified according to sampling and QAQC protocols.
  • Preparation of routine sample submissions and the corresponding submission sheets. Record submission details as per standard operating procedure. Ensure timely records. Keeping them in designated control sheets or books.
  • Conduct the insertion of appropriate QC materials in all grade control, resource development, and exploration assay sample submissions as per standard operating procedure.
  • The preparation of barren materials for QAQC programs includes the collection and submission of materials to assay laboratories for crushing and pulverizing.
  • Sort, select, and prepare samples for check assay, pulp resubmission, bottle roll, multielement, and PXRF analysis as per standard operating procedure.
  • Collect geomet data as per SOP to achieve the set targets.
  • Participate in other geological, geometeorological, and QAQC activities as needed.

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possession of a valid Tanzanian driver`s license will be an added advantage.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The purpose of the role is to conduct sampling and drilling activities related to DD and RC drilling operations and activities in support of the evaluation superintendent to achieve the set targets.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) and/or a Certificate or Diploma in Geology.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 4+ years of working experience in geology, QAQC/geomet activities, and other geologically related activities

 

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to the minimum safety standards, e.g., PPE requirements such as gloves, safety glasses, etc., conducting TAKE 5, participating in Hazard Identification, and reporting.
  • Organize and conduct workplace inspections and drilling rig inspections at drilling sites, and develop an action plan on observed deviations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Organize, coordinate, and prepare samples for dispatch to assay laboratories and for geomet data collection as per SOP and as per monthly or weekly work plans.
  • Ensure the availability of sample requirements and other critical requirements before commencing work.
  • Preparation and submission of duplicate samples from mass balance test works to assay laboratories for quality assurance.
  • Organize and conduct the insertion of appropriate quality control materials in all grade control, resource development, and exploration samples as per standard operating procedure.
  • Ensure sample collection and labeling at the field site are correct and that identified problems are rectified according to sampling and QAQC protocols.
  • Organize the preparation of all the required equipment and other logistics for mass balance test work and ensure the equipment is in good working condition.
  • Organize and conduct full mass balance and recovery studies, as well as other QAQC tests and analyses.
  • Ensure sampling and drilling activities adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure timely capture of drilling-quality data in the Fusion Remote Database and proper storage of hardcopies.
  • Track sample submissions to laboratories, approve reconciliation reports, and track their results for geological testing and analysis.
  • Maintaining a high standard of sample storage and housekeeping at sample storage areas in support of QAQC Supervisor and QAQC Controller 2
  • Participate in other geological, geometeorological, and QAQC activities as needed.
