JOB TITLE: MIS Supervisor

About the US

Bulyanhulu is roughly 55 kilometers south of Lake Victoria and 150 kilometers southwest of Mwanza.

Bulyanhulu is a narrow-vein gold mine with sulfide-containing copper, silver, and mineralization. The mineralization is connected to many sharply descending veins. In 2001, Bulyanhulu started producing goods for sale.

When Barrick bought Sutton Resources in 1999, it also acquired the Bulyanhulu property. The regional center of Mwanza is 150 kilometers (93 mi) southwest of the mine. Bulyanhulu, which cost US$280 million to build, opened its doors in 2001. After South Africa and Mali, Tanzania emerged as Africa's third-largest gold producer with the launch of Bulyanhulu. The components of Bulyanhulu are:

  • An underground mine.
  • A processing facility.
  • Tailing containment.
  • Waste rock dumps.
  • Water management ponds.
  • Related facilities.

The mine was anticipated to last more than 25 years as of 2014. When it opened, it was Tanzania's deepest mine.
