About the location:

Come and see the world's most renowned wildlife reserves with us, where the majestic Big Five - rhinoceros, lion, leopard, buffalo - roam freely across an unending, wild terrain. Our lodge is situated on a network of raised walkways and platforms adjacent to a watering hole where you may observe a herd of elephants stopping for a drink in the morning. Our lodge is located in the vast plains of Central Serengeti, approximately 45 minutes away from the Seronera Airstrip, which is connected to three major airports in Tanzania.

 

The stunning Lodge, which opened in December 2012 as part of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts family, features 77 rooms, 12 suites, and 5 villas. There are also three exquisite food and beverage venues, a Discovery Centre where guests can learn about the Serengeti's history, wildlife, and people through interactive experiences; a Kijana Kids Club; a spa with six independent treatment pavilions that celebrate the mystique and magic of Africa; a fitness center; and an attentive staff that will make your wildlife safari dreams a reality.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Make telephone and personal sales calls on accounts in assigned market areas.
  • Develop an excellent working relationship with the Four Seasons Hotel Worldwide Sales Office.
  • Demonstrates standards awareness by setting an example for standards execution, standards testing, and implementing action plans to achieve established product and service goals.
  • Prepare annual account plans and forecasts and consistently monitor and manage budgetary goals and personal targets.
  • Acts in accordance with the Golden Rule; treats guests and internal customers with kindness, compassion, and sincere enthusiasm.
  • Keep up a polished appearance and act in a mature, businesslike manner at all times when representing the resort or company.  
  • Compile and maintain up-to-date Delphi records.
  • Participate in familiarization and site inspection visits as required; please note that this may require time away from home on weekends and bank holidays.
  • Travel and solicit business designated by the marketing plan and the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Conducted at least two daily face-to-face sales calls within the assigned area.
  • Solicit repeat bookings or referrals to other Four Seasons Hotels from the client base.
  • Ensure updates of the permanent files for all groups with strong room night potential.
  • Maintain an effective plan of correspondence.
  • When the magnitude of the business necessitates an on-site presence, take meeting planners on tours of the facility.
  • Successfully negotiate with clients to meet their needs while maximizing revenue and profit.
  • In order to achieve personal goals and the total planned sales and profitability, it is necessary to assess, solicit, sell, and confirm business as needed.
  • Gather information and suggest software to address client requirements and other suggestions.
  • Contribute to the marketing strategy and budget for the United States of America.
  • Make sure to report every month in comparison to your plan and goal.
  • If anything out of the ordinary or important comes to light, the Director of Marketing / Sales must be kept fully and promptly informed so that appropriate action can be taken without delay.  
  • Coordinate effectively with other Department Heads to ensure guest/group satisfaction.
  • Follow-up on the progress of all confirmed business.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase sales activity, volume, and profit.
  • The ability to maintain assigned files by guidelines outlined in account coverage programs.
  • Ensure a complete working knowledge of the local competition.
  • Consistently promote the hotel services.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • It is preferred, but not required, to have a diploma or degree in marketing or hotel management.
  • Proficient command of the English language is necessary, as are strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Three to five years of relevant work experience is necessary for consideration.
  • Prior expertise with managing many properties or clusters is an asset. 
  • A fresh and original strategy for sales
  • Possess excellent leadership abilities to effectively manage teams comprised of employees with varying levels of expertise, fostering an inclusive and productive workplace.
  • Superior ability to negotiate and make sound decisions
