The announcement that GN no. 286 will be the Msalala District Council's complete authority appeared in the Government Gazette on August 31, 2012, and the council formally began implementing its budget on July 1st, 2013. After the Kahama District Council split, giving rise to the Ushetu Council and the Msalala Council, the Msalala Council was formed.

Citizens of the Council

The Sukuma, Wasumbwa, and Wanyamwezi tribes are the homeland of the people who live in the Ushetu District Council. Some tribes include the Waha, Wahanga, and Wasubwa tribes.

Geita Region borders Msalala Council on the north and south; Tabora Region borders it on the west; and Shinyanga Rural District and Kahama Town Council border it on the west.

The district shares borders with the Tabora area to the south and the Geita region to the north. The district shares boundaries with Shinyanga district to the west and Kahama Town Council to the west. The Msalala District is divided administratively into 2 Division, 16 Wards, 82 Villages, and 322 Sub-Villages. With a total size of 2,635.52 km², or 263,520.2 hectares, the district makes up 5.2% of the 50,781 km² Shinyanga region.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. 
   Accounts Officer and chief executive of the village government;
2. To manage the protection and safety of citizens and their properties, to be a peacekeeper and administrator of good governance in the village;
3. Coordinating and managing the planning of village development plans;
4. Secretary of all meetings and committees of the village Council;
5. Interpreting and Administering Policies, Laws and Procedures;
6. To prepare information on the implementation of work in his area and to motivate citizens in preparing and implementing strategies to eliminate hunger, poverty and increase wealth production;
7. The leader of the heads of the specialized units in the village;
8. Manage, collect and store all records and documents of the village;
9. Chairman of the meeting of experts present in the village;
10. Receive, listen and resolve citizens’ complaints and disputes;
11. Supervising the formulation of village Bylaws; and
12. He will be responsible to the Chief Executive of the Ward.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Employed with a Fourth (IV) or Sixth (VI) education who has completed Diploma/Certificate training in one of the following fields: Administration, Law, Social Education, Financial Management, Social Development and Arts Science from the Government College of Local Hombolo, Dodoma or any College recognized by the Government.

Checking the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the vehicle’s safety condition;
Sending employees to different places on business trips;
Doing small car repairs;
Collecting and distributing various documents;
Filling and maintaining all travel information in the travel log;
Cleaning the car; and
To do other work as directed by his Supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The applicant must have a Form IV Certificate and a Class E or C driving license that he has worked for at least one year without causing an accident. He must have attended basic Vocational Training (VETA) or another College recognized by the Government.
