We currently have an exciting career opportunity for Head of Agency within Jubilee Life Insurance Corporation of Tanzania Limited. The position holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer—Life and will be based in Dar-es Salaam, Tanzania.

Role Purpose
The role holder will supervise and coordinate all aspects of the Agency workstream. The role holder will develop strategies and lead the initiative to further grow the agency's workstream productivity, headcount, training, recruitment and culture. The role holder will work with the Chief Executive Officer on how to further expand the organization’s market share in Tanzania.

Main Responsibilities
Strategy
1. Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing department-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual sales.
2. Ensure the team’s strategies are aligned to the board-approved budgets, ensuring optimal and efficient use of resources within the Company.
3. Promote the use of industry-leading trends and technologies amongst the agents.
4. Develop new and attractive products and come up with strategies to increase market share.
5. Come up with agency development strategies that will lead to the growth and development of agents while achieving a competitive advantage.

Sales
1. Develop a comprehensive sales and distribution strategy to maximise sales opportunities.
2. Achieve the sales budget within the set timelines.
3. Direct the agency sales team in generating proposals that define a clear path to client satisfaction and revenue growth.
4. Outline objectives in key target areas such as sales volume, market share, and distribution strategies.
5. Collaborate with members of the marketing team and come up with marketing initiatives to penetrate key markets. 6. Define the approach for the overall sale of new business and account retention.
7. Attainment of high persistency levels for both old and new clients, leading to profitability.
8. Manage the sales expense budget and ensure that sales incentives are rolled out and awarded in a timely manner.
9. Promote the organisation’s products and services to new and current clients.
10. Develop, implement, and maintain the internal and/or external sales strategy and processes to maximise the organisation’s profit potential.

Operational
1. Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs in order to support organisational goals.
2. Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems with the goal of improving the use of resources and materials.
3. Develop and maintain productivity and quality standards through audits and other review mechanisms to ensure policy, procedures, and objectives are carried out.
4. Promote the organisation’s products and services to new and current clients.
5. Liaise with clients on regular bases to understand their needs, resolve client complaints and issues, develop new business, and provide value.

Compliance
1. Adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies, ensuring compliance in all aspects.
2. Implement and uphold robust data protection and privacy practices, safeguarding customer information and ensuring confidentiality.
3. Participate in audits and internal control assessments, addressing any identified gaps or issues promptly.
4. Compliance: Stay updated with insurance regulations and underwriting best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards
5. Adherence to the laws and regulations of Tanzania, the policies and regulations within the insurance industry and all internal company policies and procedures.

Corporate Governance
1. Compliance: Stay updated on insurance-related industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.

3. Ensuring compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and establishing mitigation measures against emerging business risks.

Academic Qualifications
1. bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business, Marketing or any other related course
2. Diploma in Insurance/LOMA/ACII Qualification
3. Master's will be an added advantage.

Relevant Experience
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales or business development.
• Have experience in operating in complex business environments and/or regulated sectors and have the personal qualities to develop strong stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrate “best in class” knowledge of technology, change, process improvement and operational management in relevant businesses.
