Founded in 1991 in Korea, Good Neighbours is a global humanitarian development NGO. Its General Consultative Status was bestowed upon it by the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Our ultimate goal is to see a world free of hunger, where all people can coexist peacefully. We want to create an environment where children's rights are safeguarded and communities can sustainably thrive through empowerment, leadership, and ownership. It was officially created in Tanzania in 2005.
Since 2015, Good Neighbours has been responding to refugee needs in the Kigoma Region through its work in refugee camps. The project office in Kigoma is currently undergoing implementation by GNTZ, KOICA-WFP, and World Vision, with the goal of improving food security, resilience, and employment opportunities for both host and refugee communities, as well as social cohesion between the two groups through the promotion of peace and stability.
We are now recruiting for the following positions at Good Neighbours Tanzania, where we are seeking ambitious new team members:
Position: Project Officer (1 Post)
Directly reports to the Coordinator of Social Cohesion and Marketing
Where: Kigoma Region's Kasulu Districts
The contract is set to run from April to December of 2025 and will last for nine months, with an additional four months of probation. Any funding, staff performance, or mutual agreement could lead to an extension of the contract.
The project officer reports to the social cohesion and marketing coordinator and works under the overall supervision of the country director (CD) of Good Neighbours Tanzania (GNTZ). The project aims to improve the livelihood and relations between host and refugee communities in Kigoma through increased food security, resilience, and employment opportunities, and to promote social cohesion between refugee and host communities in the Kasulu District-Kigoma Region through the promotion of peace and stability.

Boost farmer groups' and small and medium-sized enterprises' access to capital so they can aid farmers more effectively.
Provide farmers and aggregators with training on many topics such as business management, postharvest handling, negotiating and contracts, value addition, pricing, storage, and equipment use. The goal is to enhance the quality of produce from farm to market.

Be an active and positive participant in all necessary coordination meetings and strive to maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders and partners.
Problems and opportunities with the project can be identified and addressed in a timely manner.
Organize workshops and meetings with both large-scale purchasers and small-scale farmers to promote the aggregators, assist with contract negotiations, monitor contracts to ensure their fulfillment, and advocate for the aggregators and farmer groups. Maintain consistent communication with the heads of established farmer groups to back their efforts, offer extra help, and monitor important indicators.
Find and suggest aggregators to help smallholders gain access to markets, and find and assist farmer organisations by providing them with quick feedback and business improvement recommendations.
Improving AMCOS's technical understanding and bolstering their financial management are two ways to strengthen their operations.
Work with an agritech company to get the digital platform up and running in the AMCOS and Farmers Service Centres, and instruct farmers on how to use it and keep their data up to date.
