It offers a variety of goods and services that are customized to meet the needs of the region's development.   The East African Development Bank is well-versed in the region's financial needs and has the necessary expertise, resources, and personnel to meet those needs.   The entire assets of the organization were around $415,998,000,000 in December 2022, while the equity of the shareholders was around $303,229,000,000. Although the EADB's equity was $283,932,000,000 in 2021, the profit was $7,860,000.

Qualifications

  • Any applicable bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, including but not limited to engineering, banking, finance, law, economics, business administration, or commerce.
     An advanced degree in economics, finance, business administration, development studies, or a related discipline is preferred.
     It will be more advantageous if you have professional degrees like Chartered Economist (Ch.E.), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA).
     A minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience in a development financial institution, commercial bank, or other large financial institution, with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a senior management/C-suite post.
     Have worked in the East African region before and can speak intelligently about the region's commercial and legal climate.

Role Overview
The Director General, who reports to the Board of Directors, is responsible for leading EADB's regional activities and making sure they are financially viable and have an impact in the long run. Working closely with important stakeholders, this role entails crafting and implementing game-changing business strategies that are in line with EADB's goal.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Impact: Guide the bank through the challenges of negotiating and creating the regional development agenda, keeping it at the center of East Africa's economic revival.
     Financial Planning & Performance: Direct and coordinate all aspects of financial planning and performance, including the efficient handling of cash flows.
    Advocate for the bank's ESG programs and help fund sustainable development projects by becoming an ESG Champion.
     Advocate for People: Assemble a diverse team of skilled individuals and provide them with the necessary resources to make the bank a preferred employer.
     Encourage a mindset shift toward creativity and flexibility among bank employees so that the institution's offerings can grow with the requirements of the region.
     Stakeholder Engagement: Foster and uphold robust connections with important parties, such as the board, governmental bodies, commercial sector associates, regional groups, and IDAs, in order to propel joint development projects.
