JOB TITLE: Internal & External

Combating poverty and injustice is the mission of ActionAid Tanzania.

 Helping people all over the world—women and children alike—who are struggling against poverty and social exclusion, ActionAid Tanzania (AATZ) is a part of the larger ActionAid International Federation.  In 1998, ActionAid Kenya launched AATZ as a cross-border program in Tanzania. In 2000, it evolved into a full-fledged Country Program.  In 2001, we began conducting business in Zanzibar.  In the time after, we released four country strategy documents, each of which aided in the nation's progress.  AATZ abides by the Zanzibar Society Act no. 6 of 1995 and is registered in Tanzania Mainland.  At the ActionAid International Assembly, AATz has a representative.Social justice, gender equality, and poverty reduction are the goals of ActionAid Tanzania (AATZ), a development organization.  The program, which ActionAid Kenya launched in 1998 as a border effort, evolved into a fully-fledged national program in 2000.

 The organization is seeking a young individual with the following qualifications: self-motivation, experience, and expertise to fill the open position:

Job Title: Child Protection and Resilience Inspirator

Workstation: Mwanza Region

Reports to: Program and Partnership Manager.

Duration of placement: 12 months

Job Role:

The purpose of this placement is to strengthen the capacity of TAS, AATZ partner in Bright Future Project in area of Project coordination and Management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. The inspirator shall build the capacity of TAS and secretariat members in the following areas:
    • Project planning and management.
    • Evidence-based advocacy.
    • Project monitoring, monitoring tools, evaluation and learning.
    • Project documentation and outcome harvest
    • Project outcomes and processes
    • Financial management, including support in developing financial policies and procedures
    • Resource mobilization, including developing resource mobilization strategy.
  1. The inspirator shall also
  • Supporting TAS members, Mitindo school community and households of children living with albinism to advocate for improved services for children with albinism
  • Support TAS members, AATZ team to enhance strategy on supporting children and community with albinism

Essential experience and skills:

  • Community mobilization & organization skills.
  • Resources mobilization skills
  • Human Rights Based Approach & Feminist approach experience.
  • Social movement building, organizing, strategic planning.
  • Training experience
  • Campaign Design & execution
  • Project Management experience, especially from voluntary work, will be an added advantage.
  • Lobbying and advocacy skills and experience of working with CSOs
  • Teamwork building, innovative, ready to work under minimum supervision, result oriented person.
  • Ready to aspire the team members to embrace changes.
  • Multi-disciplinary knowledge can work in remote areas and ready to adjust according to the environment.

Education Requirements: 

  • Graduates from university or advanced diploma from reputed institutions in Development studies, Social Science or Project Management.
  • A master’s degree in any Social Science will be an added advantage.
