Responsibilities 

  • Make sure everyone is safe on the job by following all rules and regulations on health and safety, the environment, and safety training, as well as any other rules, regulations, and guidelines that may be in place.
  • Drive the garbage truck carefully both above and below ground.
    Refuel, wash, and run pre-start checks.
  • Assist with face charging, re-entry following shooting, and mine service extension as directed. Collaborate on quality and safety projects with supervisory and technical employees.
  • Work at the specified pace and quality to finish all assignments.
  • Full observance of all relevant safe operating procedures and work procedures for mining.
  • Attendance at all prestart, safety, and shift team meetings as required.
  • Make sure you have everything you need for each journey by planning ahead.
  • Please inform the appropriate maintenance crew and a supervisor if there are any issues with the tools and equipment in the work area. Under no circumstances should you use subpar machinery.
  • As per the company's standards, make sure the car is in outstanding overall condition.
  • Keep track of all your travels, events, and gas mileage.
  • Creates and maintains protocols for the handling of trash.
  • Operates backhoes and other heavy machinery to load materials, dig holes, clear land trenches for utilities, and complete associated tasks.
  • Managed a field tractor equipped with a mower or cutter bar; the machinery might be driven directly by the wheels or by a power take-off, and the controls could be mechanical or hydraulic.
  • Controlled and manoeuvred heavy machinery in narrow spaces, including spaces between trees and shrubs, as well as around fences and curbs.
  • Operating tractors and mowing equipment demands regular bending and stretching of the knees and ankles.
  • Executed standard equipment inspections, which included performing minimal operator maintenance, ensuring fluid levels were adequate, and applying lubricant as needed.

Qualification requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited secondary school. Driving licence (VET).
    Valid driver's licenses from Tanzania: classes B, C, D, and E.
    Be in possession of a current class B, C, D, or E driver's license awarded by Tanzania.
    Capable of operating vehicles with stick shifts or manual transmissions.
    Abundant familiarity with mining safety standards and legislation.

Experience and competencies needed.

  • Experience operating mobile equipment for at least two to three years in the mining sector.
  • Proficient in the most up-to-date methods and practices for operating mobile equipment. Examples include tractors, backhoes, and service trucks.
  • Competence in maintaining a diverse portfolio under intense time constraints.
    Capable of handling a wide variety of clients and maintaining a high level of professionalism across the board. Requires intrinsic motivation and the capacity to work alone with little oversight.
  • Good at conveying ideas and information.
  • Excellent credentials and expertise in the fields of technical analysis and strategic planning.
  • Extensive expertise and experience in safety-related policy and enforcement
