Manager General Insurance at Exim Bank - March 2025
Manager General Insurance at Exim Bank - March 2025

ABOUT US
The Exim Bank of Tanzania (EBT)
In 1997, once Tanzania's economy was liberalised, a group of businesses decided to start Exim Bank Tanzania (EBT). It didn't take the bank more than five months to turn a profit.
Growth in a Specific Area
Until its completely owned subsidiaries in Comoros, Djibouti, and Uganda went live in November 2019, EBT was the first indigenous Tanzanian bank to go global. The regional financial services organisation known as the Exim Bank (East Africa) Group was formed in April 2010 when the Bank of Tanzania authorised EBT to create subsidiaries in Djibouti and Zambia.
Imperial Bank (Uganda) Limited was renamed Exim Bank (Uganda) Limited when EBT bought 58.6% of the company in March 2016. United Bank Tanzania Limited was a Pakistani subsidiary that the bank expanded into in November 2019 after it acquired various businesses and assets.
New Advancements
The group's total assets reached TSh 2.4 trillion (US$1.03 billion) in July 2022 after Exim Bank Tanzania bought out First National Bank of Tanzania.
