To ensure maximum performance, this function's primary goal is to run and maintain specified packing equipment and related procedures properly.  

 

Key outputs and responsibilities:

Operating and process control:

  • Operating the packing plant's subprocesses in compliance with SOPs, assisting the plant control system, and confirming the preservation of process control: Ensure that raw materials meet company and local requirements by monitoring compliance and addressing any irregularities.
  • Getting a plant ready for startup involves ensuring that all necessary utilities, documentation, and verified and calibrated equipment are available, that brand and process modifications are accurately documented, and that the plant is visually examined to ensure it is ready to produce and set up according to SOPs.
  • Beginning and running the packaging process by OH+S regulations and correcting deviations promptly to avoid non-standard items. Ensuring strict adherence to the concession/permit processes and the documentation of non-standard operations.
  • By WI, they are closing the plant and documenting any deviations.
  • We undertake visual cleanliness inspections, clean outside plants and work areas, sample and measure CIP outputs, and carry out CIP cleaning, regulating the amount of input used, such as keeping stock levels in line with regional needs, regularly inspecting stock, checking usage ratios, and storing all inputs in the appropriate, clearly marked areas.
  • By making sure that planned maintenance schedules are followed, identifying ad hoc maintenance tasks and directing others to correct them, providing ongoing support to Team members in identifying the underlying causes of breakdowns, adhering to necessary "lock-out" procedures, and fulfilling other OH+S Act requirements, they are ensuring plant availability.
  • They continuously track brief stops and evaluate process performance in relation to goals. It is necessary to take corrective action when process performance does not meet targets or trends indicate problems.
  • I waste time in the appropriate documentation or information systems and waste trends to identify problems or opportunities.
  • It responds rapidly to upstream or downstream triggers that could result in out-of-control process situations.
  • Appropriate problem-solving approaches, as detailed in the problem-solving work practice, must be followed.
  • Performing housekeeping tasks, applying 5S principles, and following safe work practices. Unsafe work practices must be identified and corrected.
  • Assisting fellow team members in the execution of their tasks

 

Maintenance of Plant and Equipment:

  • We carry out in-depth cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of plant equipment according to standard operating procedures and maintenance schedules.
  • Performing autonomous tasks in accordance with the maintenance schedule and, where required, requesting the assistance of an artisan.
  • Identify maintenance problems and report these to the team leader for resolution.
  • I am assisting Packaging Artisans in executing running repairs on shift.
  • I am completing all documentation, including job cards, COSWIN notifications, and other shift documentation.

Quality Control and Analysis:

  • Carrying out the required quality checks/analyses per Standard Operating Procedures and recording the results on the appropriate information system.
  • We constantly review quality performance against targets and conduct trend analysis to identify problems timeously.
  • Coaching, mentoring, verifying, and transferring knowledge while assisting fellow team members in executing quality checks.
  • Where quality problems have occurred, identifying and resolving them using the correct problem-solving approaches.

Communication:

  • We actively participate in shift meetings, ask questions to test understanding, and contribute suggestions.
  • I use Gap lists to record issues, problems, and improvement opportunities.
  • It is understanding the team dashboards and participating in team target review sessions.
  • I use relevant communication media (e.g., shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues.
  • Completing required handover to incoming shift team members, ensuring the issues relating to plant performance, quality, and maintenance are communicated.

Problem Solving:

  • When problems occur, apply the appropriate techniques (e.g., Quick Fix Routines, 5 Why, etc.) to identify and correct the problem.
  • Where a problem cannot be resolved, escalate to the team leader.
  • Where problems have been resolved, verify that the issues have been eliminated.
  • Participate in, where required, team problem-solving activities.

Continuous Improvement:

  • I examine trends and spot chances to cut waste and variance using Short Interval Control charts.
  • Seek out regular chances for ongoing development and ensure these are noted on the gap list.
  • Take part in plant optimization trials conducted by divisions or regions. Techniques for Optimizing Voyager Plants:
  • Use the ideas of Voyager Plant Optimization to carry out all shift routines.
  • Maintain a high standard of competence and assist team members in developing their skills by the Global Competence Framework (CAP).
  • I use the performance management system provided by the organization to monitor my performance and participate in team and individual performance management exercises.  

 

Profile:

  • N3, at the very least, in mechanical or electrical aptitude for matriculation (technical or math).
  • A year of experience working in the FMCG sector.
  • Rudimentary knowledge of computers (Office).
