INTRODUCTION:

A worldwide nonprofit organization dedicated to medical relief, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) provides emergency medical assistance to victims of disease outbreaks, natural catastrophes, armed conflicts, and lack of access to healthcare resources. MSF provides aid to those in need regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion, or political affiliation. Consequently, MSF operates on the tenets of impartiality and neutrality. All MSF employees must abide by these guidelines.

Required Criteria:

Minimum Educational Qualification:

• Secondary school education requirements.
• A valid driver's license.
• Degrees obtained from driving colleges.  

Experience:

• A minimum of two years of prior driving experience is required.
• Preferred background with vehicles (4x4, boats, motorcycles, etc.).
• In MSF or other NGOs, desirable.

Languages:

• English and Swahili (fluent, oral & written) required.
• Main purpose:
• It maintains the MSF vehicle's technical and safety standards, transports approved products and passengers and adheres to national traffic and MSF security regulations to deliver a service that is efficient, safe, and reliable.  
• Main Responsibilities:
• Daily technical inspections of the assigned vehicle (tyre, oil, fuel, brakes, radio equipment, spare parts, etc.) are conducted, and the MSF Logbook conducts weekly inspections. The vehicle is kept clean and refilled to provide optimal driving conditions. They are executing a handover if someone else drives the car.  
• To prevent auto accidents, make sure all passengers are secure in the automobile, drive cautiously, and follow local traffic laws, speed restrictions, and MSF security regulations.
• They ensure that all passengers have the appropriate documentation before departing and that non-MSF employees sign releases of liability before utilizing the vehicle.  
• Making sure the car is loaded and unloaded correctly, giving the paperwork to the person receiving the goods, monitoring the delivery progress, sending the completed paperwork back to logistics, and ensuring the items carry the required paperwork.
• They confirm that the driver's license and all vehicle paperwork are current and in the car.
• They report any issue concerning passenger and cargo transportation to the line manager.  
• Understanding all radio types, call numbers, codes, and radio alphabets by memory; conversing with the base by MSF communications protocol to apprise the driver of their situation and any possible ramifications. Be aware of and observe the security regulations governing vehicle travel, particularly roadblocks, customs, and checkpoints and ensure that each passenger is aware of and complies with the security guidelines.
