CHAMA CHA UZAZI NA MALEZI BORA TANZANIA (UMATI)

Providing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information, education, and services in Tanzania, Chama cha Uzazi Na Malezi Bora Tanzania (UMATI) is an autonomous, non-political national NGO. Since 1959, it has been a top national organisation offering quality, young-friendly SRH information and services, especially to women and young people. Under technical and core funding assistance, UMATI joined the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) as a full-member association in 1973. Through experience sharing with other IPPF member organisations, UMATI is globally linked by membership in IPPF.

UMATI sees a Tanzania where people are free to choose and exercise their sexual and reproductive health and rights free from gender, sex, and age discrimination. UMATI's visioning process made clear both an organisational value statement and the importance of including "without discrimination" as a repeating theme. Agreed as a top inclusion at the conclusion that UMATI would love to see by doing its basic business was "freedom of choice.".

The mission statement of UMATI is to advocate SRHR and offer information and services aimed at the underprivileged young people. While developing the mission statement, consideration was given to UMATI's strategic posture as the top SRHR supplier in Tanzania. Eventually, this was replaced by "champion," realising that leading not only by the provision of services but also by supporting other service providers, including capacity building, to local CSO partners in the nation to champion SRHR through their advocacy projects. With an emphasis on the poorest communities and hard-to-reach populations, UMATI works for structural poverty reduction by improving the health of people in the nation regardless of gender and political or religious beliefs.

U-M Kobay: Using outreach to strengthen access to integrated sexual and reproductive health services

Using outreach approaches in Kigoma, UMATI—supported by the Bergstrom Foundation—is strengthening access to integrated SRH services in public health institutions. Six districts of the Kigoma region—Kasulu DC, Kibondo DC, Kakonko DC, Uvinza DC, Buhigwe DC, and Kasulu TC—are the sites of the project.

Three approaches will be used in the provision of family planning services, including the use of the mobile van, community volunteers, and public health facilities using the cluster plus model for service provision to make sure that the hard-to-reach population in Kigoma is reached with SRH services, including family planning.

Project goal, objective, purpose, interim results

Project Objective
The project's primary objective is to help women, men, adolescents, and young people in Kigoma achieve better sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes, thereby producing healthy, productive, and powerful women, men, and young people.

Two particular goals of the initiative are

to provide men, women of reproductive age, and young people in Kigoma access to thorough SRHR information.
To provide women of reproductive age, men, and young people in the Kigoma Region access to integrated SRH services, especially LAPM.
Request Consultancy

The project aims to improve data analysis and its use in planning as well as package this information into forms that management and program teams might quickly access for decision-making. UMATI plans to employ a person to create a project data monitoring tool including data analysis for particular facilities, districts, and areas with informative dashboards improving data visualisation and use. This instrument will offer analysis of service delivery patterns over all project sites. Key materials for distributing knowledge to every project participant will be the data visualisation charts and dashboard.

Objectives of the Consultancy

The aim of the project is to create data collection and analysis tools and/or dashboards that will guide project development towards accomplishing its objectives and thus readily distribute project progress to its intended stakeholders, particularly decision-makers. The consultants will specifically accomplish the following:

To combine Power BI with current systems, including the ODK/Kobo toolkit, mobile app, web system, and DHIS2.
to generate custom reports and dashboards for real-time analysis of important project KPIs.
Create dashboards that let people interact with the data, then drill down to investigate particular areas of the data more closely.
Make sure the presentation dashboards and data analysis tools are easy for everyone with different degrees of technological knowledge to utilise.
to provide project team, management, partners, and donor representatives easily available, interactive, and current data visualisations, thus improving decision-making capacity.
to automate tedious data processing and reporting chores, hence raising operational effectiveness. This includes checking our manual and digital data collection instruments to guarantee availability of the digital data.
To enable project staff members to autonomously produce and access reports, hence promoting a data-driven culture.
To equip program teams with created data analysis tools and dashboards and guide on dashboard interpretation of results.
