8 Job Openings at MUHAS - March 2025

Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences
Duration of Project
January 2025 – January 2027 (24 months)
Project Summary
The SPRINT project, which aims to strengthen post-crash care in Tanzania, is supported by a World Health Organisation research grant to the Department of Emergency Medicine at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences. The university is seeking applications from qualified Tanzanians for the positions involved in this project. By enhancing the ability of first responders and hospitals to treat patients with Road Traffic Injuries (RTIs), the SPRINT research project seeks to enhance the post-crash treatment and results for victims of RTIs. This project will examine the impact of six components of the World Health Organization's (WHO) emergency care toolbox in pre-hospital and hospital settings along the major A7 highway that connects the north and south of Tanzania. Project goals include a decrease in preventable deaths, a prevention of lifelong disabilities, and an improvement in the result of RTI victims through enhancing post-crash care. The adoption of a standardised trauma form will not only help patients recover faster, but it will also pave the way for a national trauma registry, which will aid in evaluation and quality improvement efforts and give authorities the data they need to make informed decisions.
