Project Overview

This project focuses on improving human rights (especially for women and children) in six Shehias and ten schools within Zanzibar's Central District. The target population includes local leaders, teachers, students, parents, and other community members, aiming to impact at least 5,000 individuals directly.

A thorough needs assessment in Unguja Ukuu Kaebona identified community challenges, prioritized solutions, and helped design a participatory project plan.


Project Goal

To enhance health and human rights, especially for women and children, in the targeted areas of Zanzibar.


Objectives and Outcomes

Objective 1: Improve women's human rights.

  • Outcomes:
    1. Women reducing their workload: 20% → 60%.
    2. Reporting human rights violations: 10% → 50%.
    3. Couples co-owning property: 10% → 50%.

Objective 2: Improve student human rights.

  • Outcomes:
    1. Awareness of reporting violations: 18% → 50%.
    2. Reduction in school dropouts: 70% → 20%.
    3. Children accessing basic needs and respecting laws: 10% → 60%.

Objective 3: Address issues like trafficking and violence.

  • Outcomes:
    1. Human rights awareness: 10% → 50%.
    2. Legal handling of rights violations: 10% → 50%.

External Evaluation Purpose

Main Goal:
To assess project performance (2022–2025) in terms of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability. The findings will guide improvements for the next project phase.

    • Community response to project efforts.
  2. Efficiency & Effectiveness:

    • Resource utilization and system operations.
    • Financial management and operational strategies.

Evaluation Objectives

Methodology
