Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd is hiring a Tax Manager for the Finance department in Dar es Salaam. We’re looking for someone with strong skills in tax management. You’ll report to the Finance Director and play a key part in ensuring our company stays tax compliant and efficient.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As the Tax Manager, your job is to keep us in line with tax laws and make sure we’re using the best strategies. You’ll be in charge of managing all tax matters across the country, offering strategic guidance, and making our tax processes smoother. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Tax Compliance: Manage all tax filings and ensure they’re accurate and on time.
- Statutory Requirements: Make sure our tax reports meet all legal standards.
- Strategy Implementation: Apply CCBA’s tax strategies in our operations.
- Process Standardization: Work on making our tax procedures consistent and efficient.
- Tax Analysis: Regularly review tax trends and take steps to improve.
- Clearance Management: Handle tax clearances for loans and renewals without delays.
- Instalment Taxes: Review and approve quarterly instalments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with tax authorities, auditors, and other partners to solve any issues fast.
- Liaison Role: Be the go-to person for all tax-related interactions outside the company.
- Support Business Leaders: Help our leaders with any tax-related questions.
- Tax Audits: Lead and manage tax audits, making sure everything is compliant.
- Audit Collaboration: Work with internal teams and consultants during audits.
- Variance Management: Check for differences in assessments and make queries if needed.
- Objections & Appeals: File objections and appeals when necessary.
- Tax Correspondence: Respond to tax authority letters and draft necessary communications.
- Internal Controls: Set up strong tax controls and ensure we’re following company policies.
- Health Checks: Regularly assess our tax situation and fix any issues.
- Stay Informed: Keep up with tax law changes and advise management on how to stay compliant.
- Reporting: Make sure tax provisions and reports are accurate and meet accounting standards.
- Tax Saving: Find and implement ways to save on taxes.
- Reconciliations: Regularly check and reconcile tax accounts with external filings like VAT.
- Law Updates: Notify management of changes in tax laws that affect us.
Skills, Experience & Education
- Education: A degree in Finance, Tax, or Law. CPA or similar qualifications are a plus.
- Experience: At least 5 years in a tax role, preferably in corporate settings or international auditing.
- Expertise: Solid understanding of tax laws, especially for the manufacturing industry, and knowledge of GAAP/IFRS.
