About TANROADS
TANROADS is a semi-autonomous agency under the Ministry of Works, established on July 1, 2000. The agency focuses on road safety, environmental sustainability, and implementing road sector policies. Currently, the Regional Manager for TANROADS-Tanga invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for positions under the Mafuleta – Kileguru Road Project (30KM) supervision.
Available Positions
1. Resident Engineer (1 Post)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from a recognized institution.
- ERB registration as a Professional Engineer with a valid practicing license.
- Experience with FIDIC contract management (advantageous).
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least two similar road projects.
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken).
- Tanzanian citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the contractor's site activities.
- Manage project plans, quality control, and contracts.
- Handle monthly statements and process payments.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain meeting minutes.
- Monitor environmental and social impact measures.
2. Assistant Surveyor (1 Post)
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Land Surveying or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of survey work experience.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Tanzanian citizenship (25 years or older).
Responsibilities:
- Conduct surveys to measure land contours and dimensions.
- Coordinate findings with project engineers.
- Adjust instruments for accurate results.
- Set fixed points for mapping and measurements.
3. Works Inspector – Road Works (1 Post)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of road construction experience.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Self-driven and able to work under pressure.
- Tanzanian citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure roadworks comply with project specifications.
- Implement quality assurance and control procedures.
- Maintain detailed project records and daily diaries.
- Measure roadworks quantities daily.
- Prepare progress reports.
4. Works Inspector – Drainage and Structure (1 Post)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- ERB registration as a Graduate/Professional Engineer.
- At least 3 years of experience in drainage or structure construction.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Tanzanian citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise drainage works and maintain site records.
- Measure completed work quantities daily.
- Submit cost updates and progress reports.
- Maintain a site diary.
5. Materials Technician (1 Post)
Qualifications:
- Full Technician Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Laboratory and material testing experience (preferred).
- Strong English communication skills.
- Tanzanian citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor lab experiments to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Inspect and test materials for quality assurance.
- Maintain detailed records of materials testing activities.
- Enforce QA/QC procedures.
