Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is on a mission to lead in specialized health services across Africa. As Tanzania’s largest provider of disability and rehabilitation services, CCBRT focuses on accessible healthcare, especially for vulnerable communities. Beyond disability care, CCBRT actively supports maternal and newborn health, including high-risk and emergency deliveries, with its new Maternity and Newborn Wing serving as a key referral center for Dar es Salaam and Eastern Tanzania.

To keep up with our expanding services, we’re looking for skilled and dedicated Obstetricians & Gynaecologists to join our team.


About the Role

As a Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at CCBRT, you will:

  • Conduct patient examinations, gather medical history, and run various tests to diagnose and treat conditions.
  • Monitor and care for expectant mothers through pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum.
  • Follow high standards of care, including conducting prenatal audits to maintain quality.
  • Educate patients on reproductive health, disease prevention, and early detection.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on treatment planning and surgeries.
  • Mentor new staff and participate in research projects.
  • Fulfill administrative responsibilities tied to OBGYN services, including shift and night duties.
  • Engage in CCBRT’s training programs for ongoing staff development.

Candidate Requirements

We’re seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Educational Background: MD with a Master’s in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: Proven track record in outpatient, inpatient, and surgical OBGYN services.
  • Registration: Registered with the Tanganyika professional council, with a current license to practice.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication skills in Kiswahili and English.
    • Excellent patient management and interpersonal abilities.
    • Problem-solving skills.
    • Basic computer skills.
