About the Position

Holtan (EA) Ltd is looking for a skilled and adventurous Site Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the beautiful Serengeti National Park. If you have experience in high-end, remote-site hospitality construction, we’d love to have you on board! Your main task? To manage the construction site of a luxury lodge designed to attract international visitors. This role is all about staying on budget, delivering quality, and ensuring projects meet their timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Management: Handle all commercial aspects of the contract and on-site tasks.
  • Profit Maximization: Take charge of optimizing margins to benefit the company.
  • Cost Control: Monitor labor costs and material usage, approving purchases within budget limits.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide weekly projections on costs and budgets, and report on Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Daily Measurements: Track the daily work done by contractors and subcontractors.
  • Payment Processing: Review and approve monthly Interim Payment Applications for subcontractors.
  • Monthly Valuations: Conduct monthly assessments of completed work and submit Interim Payment Applications.
  • Documentation: Generate and process Interim Payment Certificates for subcontractors.
  • Monthly Reports: Deliver comprehensive monthly EVM reports.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Building Economics, focused on construction.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Site Quantity Surveyor, with a track record in cost control and profit.
  • Knowledge of Standard Practices in Quantity Surveying.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong planning and interpersonal skills.
  • Time Management: Ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Self-Motivated & Resilient: Take ownership and be accountable for your tasks.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Team Player: Experience working with diverse cultural teams and respectful toward all colleagues.
