Role Purpose

As a Senior Logistics Officer, you’ll be a key player in making sure our logistics run smoothly. From managing deliveries and inventory to coordinating with suppliers, you’ll keep everything on track to support Watu Credit’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape Logistics Strategies: Help build, test, and refine logistics strategies to boost efficiency and support company goals.
  • Manage Day-to-Day Logistics: Oversee daily logistics tasks like deliveries, inventory checks, and supplier coordination to ensure quality and timely execution.
  • Lead and Support the Team: Act as the go-to for Logistics Officers, providing guidance, mentorship, and troubleshooting.
  • Handle Reconciliations: Keep accurate records of daily, weekly, and monthly vehicle deliveries, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Plan Coordination: Work closely with the GPS team and other departments to align schedules and plans.
  • Track Vehicle Readiness: Maintain detailed records by chassis number for vehicles that are ready for delivery and those pending.
  • Ensure Timely Resolutions: Collaborate on Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and assembly issues with stakeholders to solve issues fast.
  • Step in During Emergencies: Lead logistics operations during emergencies or when the supervisor is unavailable.
  • Align with Broader Goals: Partner with various departments to ensure logistics goals match the company's overall direction.
  • Drive Process Improvements: Spearhead improvements within the logistics team, including creating and implementing new procedures.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven background in logistics management or a similar role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational skills, problem-solving, and team management.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with supply chain management and logistics operations.
  • Work Style: Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
