Job Overview
As a Procurement Officer at Dark Earth Carbon, you'll be in charge of sourcing and buying the goods and services needed to keep our operations running smoothly. Your role will involve evaluating suppliers, negotiating prices, and making sure everything is delivered on time. Plus, you'll help manage inventory to cut costs and improve efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
- Source and purchase the goods and services necessary for the company.
- Evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure the best prices.
- Ensure on-time delivery of goods and services, keeping everything on track with project timelines and company needs.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and contracts.
- Track inventory levels, spot shortages, and suggest cost-effective purchasing solutions.
- Work with internal teams to understand their needs and align procurement strategies with company goals.
- Stay up to date on market trends, pricing changes, and potential new suppliers.
- Take on additional tasks assigned by your manager.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 1–2 years of experience in procurement or a similar role. Experience in biochar or the agricultural industry is a plus but not required.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead training sessions.
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, especially when evaluating suppliers, contracts, and inventory data.
- Self-driven and capable of making informed decisions.
- Proficiency in both Swahili and English is a must.
