Job Overview
As a Procurement Officer, your role is all about finding the best products and services while keeping costs in check. You'll be managing supplier relationships, negotiating deals, and ensuring purchases meet quality and budget standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Supplier Evaluation:
- Identify and assess potential suppliers to ensure they meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers to streamline procurement processes.
Negotiation:
- Negotiate terms and agreements with suppliers to secure the best deals.
Department Collaboration:
- Work closely with department heads to understand their procurement needs and align strategies.
Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and execute procurement plans to meet organizational goals.
- Stay updated on market trends and industry practices to improve procurement strategies.
Cost Management:
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities.
Tender Management:
- Review and analyze tenders, proposals, and pre-qualification documents, focusing on technical, commercial, and contractual aspects.
- Support other departments in collecting necessary documents for offers, including technical and operational information, pricing, and certifications.
Fast Decision-Making:
- Handle queries quickly and professionally from clients or staff.
Records and Inventory:
- Keep accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier details.
- Update office assets and inventory regularly.
Tender Compliance:
- Understand project and tender requirements, preparing detailed compliance statements and tender documents on time.
Request for Proposals (RFP):
- Prepare RFPs and gather pricing from international vendors based on project specifications.
Problem Solving:
- Resolve issues by coordinating with internal teams and client representatives.
Additional Duties
- Take on other responsibilities as assigned by management to meet organizational needs.
