We’re looking for motivated, qualified, and dedicated Tanzanians to fill two (2) positions:
POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Officer
REPORTS TO: Human Resources Manager
LOCATION: Dar es Salaam
Job Type: Full-time
JOB SUMMARY:
As a key member of the program support team, the Human Resources Officer plays an essential role in supporting human resources operations. This role involves providing a wide range of HR services to internal clients and being the go-to person for HR support within CARE Tanzania.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Apply HR policies and procedures to staff and vendor requests.
- Receive requests, determine the nature of the need, and provide HR services according to policy and service level agreements.
- Coordinate new employee orientation and induction programs.
- Stay updated on HR policies and suggest improvements for service levels and efficiency.
- Process financial payments where applicable.
- Escalate issues that require further investigation, such as Procurement Requisitions and HR-related payments.
- Collect APAA forms and consolidate information, working with HRM.
- Compile training needs based on Annual Performance Agreement (APAA) assessments.
- Coordinate staff training with Program Managers and Unit Heads.
- Manage daily HR activities and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Maintain HR files, databases, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Prepare and process HR-related financial requests and procurement requisitions.
- Handle staff separations, including resignations, terminations, and other exit processes.
- Facilitate gratuity and final benefits payments.
- Manage the filing system for personnel records.
- Oversee volunteer and intern recruitment processes.
- Enter employee data into PeopleSoft and manage HR records.
- Promote gender equality within the workplace.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- A degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in operational HR administration.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- At least 2 years of HR experience in recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and staff development.
- Knowledge of HR policies, Tanzania labor laws, and best practices.
- Ability to resolve issues independently while staying current with CARE's procedures.
- Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Integrity and responsiveness to HR tasks.
