Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims to lead in accessible specialized health services across Africa. As Tanzania’s largest local provider of disability and rehabilitation services, CCBRT works extensively in maternal and newborn healthcare, striving to prevent lifelong disabilities and serving as a vital center for high-risk deliveries in Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone.

Position Overview

CCBRT seeks a motivated Head of Procurement to oversee the purchase of all goods and services. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role involves leading procurement strategies to enhance transparency, ethical practices, and cost-efficiency. Key tasks include revising procurement processes, developing KPIs, training staff, and ensuring alignment with industry standards for improved efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for CCBRT’s procurement operations, prioritizing transparent, ethical practices.
  • Identify areas for process improvement, focusing on efficiency and quality.
  • Review, revise, and implement procurement policies to optimize performance.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Train and build team capacity, promoting best practices within the department.
  • Drive value-focused procurement and support budget planning.
  • Ensure robust impact controls and effective performance metrics.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement; registered with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technician Board (PSPTB).
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years in a leadership role within procurement; health or NGO experience is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong negotiation, cross-functional collaboration, and risk management abilities; proficiency in SAP or similar software.
  • Communication: Fluent in English and Swahili, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
