We are looking for a Finance & Administration Director to join a five-year USDA-funded project. This initiative focuses on developing Tanzania's poultry value chain into a sustainable business. The project will strengthen the feed sector, introduce climate-smart technologies, improve animal health practices, and provide capacity building in agricultural finance and extension services. The position is based in Mbeya, Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight
- Create annual, activity, and partner budgets for approval.
- Monitor budgets, spending, and recommend actions when necessary.
- Ensure all costs are reasonable, allowable, and aligned with project goals.
- Comply with Corus, donor, and local tax regulations.
- Manage financial transactions and reconciliations using MIP Fund Accounting software.
Administration & Logistics
- Oversee office leases, procurement, and property inventories.
- Supervise payroll, onboarding, and offboarding of staff.
- Ensure vehicle management (cars and motorcycles) is efficient, including maintenance and insurance.
- Provide administrative support to sub-grantees to ensure compliance with donor and Corus policies.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Formal accounting certification.
- 8–10 years of financial management experience, including 5+ years with US government-funded projects.
- Expertise in cost accounting practices and OMB Guidance for Grants (2 CFR 200).
- Familiarity with accounting software like MIP Fund Accounting, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in English.
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
