Duties and Responsibilities
Create Policy Guidelines: Develop policies to manage and respond to the HIV/AIDS epidemic as per Tanzania's National Strategy.
Strategic Framework Development: Plan and implement HIV/AIDS control programs to align with the National Multi-Sectoral Strategy.
Build National and International Partnerships: Coordinate with various stakeholders for effective HIV/AIDS control programs within the national framework.
Resource Management: Oversee resource mobilization, distribution, and monitoring to ensure fair allocation.
Share Information: Distribute information on HIV/AIDS prevention and control programs, and its impact in Tanzania.
Research and Information Sharing: Promote research and share information on HIV/AIDS prevention and care efforts.
Advocacy and Education: Lead national-level advocacy and educational campaigns on HIV/AIDS.
Monitor and Evaluate Programs: Track the progress and impact of ongoing HIV/AIDS activities.
Program Coordination: Manage HIV/AIDS epidemic-related activities according to the National Multi-Sectoral Strategy.
Treatment Access and Cure Efforts: Support initiatives for cure research, treatment access, and vaccine development.
Protect Rights: Collaborate with relevant sectors to protect the rights of people affected by HIV/AIDS.
Support Positive Living: Promote and support a positive lifestyle for those living with HIV/AIDS.
Government Advisory: Provide guidance to the government on HIV/AIDS prevention and control measures.
Policy Implementation: Identify and address barriers to achieving HIV/AIDS prevention goals.
Supervision: Oversee programs related to patient care, counseling, and social support for those affected by HIV/AIDS.
Build Partnerships: Work with government bodies, NGOs, and donors to improve HIV/AIDS collaboration efforts.
Ensure Compliance: Make sure all TACAIDS operations comply with laws and regulations.
Financial Management: Manage budget, resources, and organizational finances to achieve top results and accountability.
Representation: Represent TACAIDS in national and international forums to advocate for HIV/AIDS-related issues.
Reporting: Regularly report TACAIDS performance, achievements, and challenges to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Additional Activities: Collaborate with various sectors to support other HIV/AIDS prevention activities as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master’s Degree: Required in Public Health, HIV/AIDS, or related fields from a recognized institution. Medical background is a plus.
Remuneration: As per government scale.
