The MasterCard Foundation Partnership

Our work with the MasterCard Foundation will impact 1.2 million girls and young women and 9.5 million people across Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, and Uganda. We’re tackling poverty head-on, made even more urgent by the global pandemic. Our programs empower young women to achieve sustainable livelihoods and become advocates in their communities.

Position: Communications Officer

Location: Dar es Salaam, Country Office

We're looking for a Communications Officer to support our efforts with engaging, impactful communication strategies.


What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and run communication plans to highlight our programs and initiatives.
  • Create engaging content for our website, social media, newsletters, and press releases to expand our reach.
  • Organize internal and external events, such as workshops and community outreach programs, ensuring they run smoothly.
  • Track and analyze media coverage, building positive relationships with journalists.
  • Manage internal communications, including newsletters and announcements, to keep everyone informed.
  • Translate communication materials when needed.
  • Draft and edit a variety of content, like annual reports, website articles, and marketing materials.
  • Collect visual content with external photographers and videographers for our communication materials.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or Public Relations.
  • At least 3 years of experience in communications, journalism, or public relations. NGO experience is a bonus.
  • Content creation and graphic design skills.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
  • Great interpersonal and organizational skills.
