Are you an experienced insurance professional looking for a big career move? Our client, a well-established General Insurance Company in Tanzania, is searching for a Chief Executive Officer. This company is part of a leading financial group in East Africa and offers various short-term insurance solutions.

Job Overview: As the CEO, you’ll report to the Board of Directors and lead the company toward strategic and operational success. You’ll serve as the main advisor to the Board and oversee all operational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans for growth and profitability.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the Board and inspire the team.
  • Build strong connections with the regulator, business partners, and stakeholders, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
  • Manage company assets effectively to boost shareholder value.
  • Present operational and statutory reports to the Board.
  • Drive organizational change to improve efficiency with smart capacity planning.
  • Lead reinsurance treaty negotiations.
  • Organize and handle multiple tasks, paying close attention to details and deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills Needed:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (MBA preferred).
  • Certifications: ACII, AIII, FCII, FIII, or similar credentials.
  • Experience:
    • 20+ years in the insurance sector, including 10 years in senior management.
    • Strong knowledge in reinsurance placements, treaty negotiations, and insurance operations.
    • Expert in all types of non-life insurance.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills for managing diverse relationships.
    • Proven ability in training and developing staff.
