What's the Role?

You'll be the go-to person for making sure our logistics run like a well-oiled machine. Safety standards? You’ll keep them top-notch. From overseeing the brewery distribution to managing fleet, inventory, and warehousing, you’ll play a big part in keeping everything on track.

Responsibilities

Fleet & Safety:

  • Keep our work environment safe for everyone, inside and out.
  • Make sure we stick to all laws and safety regulations, like the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and the Road Transport Act.
  • Conduct safety reviews and come up with plans to minimize risks.
  • Perform annual risk assessments and set up ways to handle those risks.
  • Maintain our company fleet to be in tip-top shape.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure logistics teams meet all quality standards set by our Zone guidelines.
  • Prevent any blocked stock from causing problems.
  • Manage stock and inventory proactively to avoid unnecessary waste.

DPO/VPO Standards:

  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, sticking to our structured guidelines.
  • Run the Daily Logistics Meeting and make sure it’s productive.
  • Standardize processes using operational work tools and track all key performance metrics.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques for any issues that arise.

Service Level Management:

  • Work well with T1 & T2 carriers to keep brewery operations smooth.
  • Coordinate with the Planning Team for efficient glass returns and stock management.
  • Keep tight control over inventory policies and ensure everything is well-documented.
  • Manage service agreements and keep communication open with Fleet, Quality, and Sales teams.
  • Report and manage any packaging or service issues as they come up.

Cost Management:

  • Keep a close eye on budgets and ensure every dollar counts.
  • Be accountable for the logistics spend and report financials accurately.
  • Tackle overspends and manage costs in real time.

People Management:

  • Make sure everyone on the shop floor knows the goals and meeting routines.
  • Conduct monthly check-ins with team members to ensure targets are on track.
  • Maintain a positive work environment with regular communication and engagement.
  • Take care of recruitment and performance management to build a strong team.

What You'll Need:

  • A degree in Logistics or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the local market and relevant laws.
  • Solid customer service and communication skills.
  • Great planning abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivation, adaptability, and a knack for coaching and leadership.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
