Job Overview
NCBA Bank is looking for an Officer, Payment and Reporting to manage the Accounts Payable function and ensure efficient and controlled operations. This role includes enforcing expense management guidelines, maintaining fixed asset registers, and ensuring proper cost control.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiency Improvement: Spot and act on opportunities to improve efficiency in various departments and channels.
- Cost Centre Management: Produce periodic reports for cost centers, identify budget variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Project Documentation: Ensure all projects are properly documented with relevant approvals and post-implementation reviews.
- Accounts Payable Oversight: Oversee procurement and supplier payments, ensuring expense guidelines are followed.
- Payment Processing: Approve expenditure requests and ensure payments are processed quickly.
- Branch Expenses: Monitor and review petty cash expenses, ensuring proper approvals for variations.
- Fixed Assets Management: Maintain an automated Fixed Asset Register and reconcile it with the General Ledger monthly.
- Regulatory Reporting: Provide accurate information to regulators, rating, and lending agencies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Studies.
- Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant, or similar qualification.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in accounting or auditing.
- Knowledge of Accounts Department operations.
- Experience maintaining and reconciling Fixed Asset Registers.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and numerical analysis.
