Discover More About Us
For every child, courage.
Tanzania is a lower-middle-income country making strides in education, healthcare, and social inclusion. However, challenges remain regarding child rights, poverty, health, malnutrition, quality education, and access to clean water. These issues are complicated by risks from climate change, regional instability, and hosting refugees.
UNICEF’s Country Programme for 2022-2027 aligns with Tanzania's goals, focusing on child protection, education, health, nutrition, social policy, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene). Our work centers in Kigoma, Mbeya, and Zanzibar, aiming to strengthen systems, build partnerships, and promote positive social behavior. We also respond to urbanization, humanitarian needs, and ensure gender equality and inclusion for those with disabilities.
