About the Ruvuma Landscape

The Ruvuma landscape in Tanzania is rich in biodiversity, supporting millions who rely on its natural resources. WWF’s Tanzania Country Office (TCO) is actively working to preserve this unique environment, creating a sustainable future for both people and wildlife. This landscape, shared with northern Mozambique, is a top conservation priority for WWF Tanzania.

The Ruvuma Landscape program now seeks a National Coordinator to lead conservation projects and foster sustainability in Tanzania’s portion of this landscape.

Position Overview

The National Coordinator will manage Tanzania’s role in the Ruvuma Transboundary Landscape program, guiding conservation projects, building partnerships, and leading interventions. The role calls for a skilled professional

  • capable of collaborating with:Government institutions
  • Local and regional government departments
  • WWF network colleagues
  • Development partners
  • Funders

International NGOs

  • Community stakeholders
  • Civil society organizations

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education:Advanced degree in Wildlife, Natural Resources Management, or similar field
  • Experience:Background in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Field coordination expertise
  • Skills in managing multi-stakeholder projects, including donor relations
  • Team leadership across diverse cultural and technical backgrounds
  • Skills Needed:High energy and self-motivation
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Dedication to WWF’s core values and code of conduct
