CARE Tanzania is hiring a Resource Mobilization and Partnership Intern to join our fundraising team. Working under the Senior Manager of Fundraising, you’ll play a key role in helping CARE meet its fundraising goals. You’ll collaborate with the team to attract the right partners, generate opportunities for new programs, and deliver top-notch proposals on time. This position is based in Dar es Salaam and reports to the Senior Manager Fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • Support fundraising efforts: You’ll help implement the annual fundraising plan, making sure donor relations and partner engagement strategies are on point.
  • Adapt to change: Ensure that CARE’s fundraising systems and approaches are always up-to-date and aligned with changing needs.
  • Coordinate services: Make sure all internal services are delivered on time and meet the quality standards.
  • Identify funding opportunities: Work with the team to find new sources of funding that fit our strategy.
  • Attend key meetings: Represent CARE at relevant donor meetings, partner discussions, and strategic gatherings. Ensure key decisions are shared and acted upon.
  • Build fundraising capacity: Work closely with your supervisor and team to enhance the fundraising skills of all staff members.
  • Manage relationships: Support the programs team by maintaining strong relationships with donors, partners, and government stakeholders. Gather useful insights to guide future efforts.
  • Prepare proposals: Help CARE create high-quality, winning proposals that meet the needs of the programs and reflect our experience and learning.
  • Review proposals: Support the review process to ensure proposals meet CARE guidelines before submission.
  • Identify partners: Collaborate with the Resource Mobilization team to find potential partners for joint proposals.
  • Develop strategies: Help create and maintain fundraising strategies, objectives, and systems to keep things running smoothly.
  • Keep track of grants: Ensure the grant tracking tools are updated regularly to keep everyone in the loop.
  • Mitigate risks: Work with the team to monitor and reduce any potential risks.
  • Follow rules and regulations: Ensure CARE follows donor guidelines and complies with all local laws and regulations.
  • Deliver reports: Ensure all reports meet donor requirements and are delivered on time.
  • Handle complaints: Address any stakeholder concerns professionally and make sure issues are resolved quickly.
  • Promote CARE: Collaborate with the communications team to maintain a positive image for CARE Tanzania.
  • Share best practices: Help share what works, both internally and with our partners, to enhance future projects.
  • Focus on gender equality: Ensure all project designs include gender considerations and allocate budget for initiatives targeting women and youth.

Education and Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international development, or a related field.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in fundraising for international development programs.
  • Experience in writing proposals and developing budgets for various donors like USAID, EU, DFID, etc.
  • Familiarity with donor compliance and award management systems.

Skills
