Purpose of the Role

As a team leader at SBL, you’ll work with your crew to hit key targets in safety, quality, cost, and service. It’s your job to ensure that every health and safety guideline is followed and that our packaging process meets the highest standards. You’ll lead the team through continuous improvement, making sure we stay on track to deliver top-notch products, every time.

You’ll be overseeing operations in a busy environment, and your leadership will be key to handling the complexities that come with the job. Performance management, coaching, and motivation are also big parts of your role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Make sure everyone is working in a safe environment, with all equipment running according to Health and Safety standards.
  • Quality Products: Deliver products that meet Diageo’s quality specs for both internal and external customers.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Maintain top hygiene standards across all packaging equipment and areas.
  • Efficient Planning: Ensure production is delivered on time and to the agreed schedule, with minimal waste.
  • Problem-Solving: Handle any issues quickly by using quality control measures and following the escalation process.
  • Leadership: Coach and train your team to ensure smooth operations and personal development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep pushing for improvements by using the best tools and practices to drive performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or production management.
  • A diploma in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, or Biochemistry is a plus.
  • An IBD Diploma in Packaging or Brewing is highly preferred.
