Role Overview

  • In this role, you’ll provide essential nursing care to vulnerable pregnant women through all stages of maternity—before, during, and after delivery, including fistula surgeries. This position is perfect if you’re passionate about maternal health and midwifery, with opportunities for continuous learning through both local and international mentorship and training.
  • What You’ll DoPrenatal and Postpartum Care: Guide pregnant women through pregnancy and beyond.
  • Labor and Delivery Support: Care for mothers and newborns during delivery.
  • Routine Gynecological Care: Conduct examinations and essential health checks.
  • Family Planning Education: Advise patients on family planning options.
  • Medical Records Maintenance: Keep accurate patient records.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Refer patients to specialists when needed.
  • Emotional Support: Provide comfort to expectant and new mothers.
  • Vaccination and Family Planning Services: Administer vaccines and provide family planning methods.
  • Mentorship & Training: Tutor student midwives and recognize high-risk pregnancies.
  • Medical Care Administration: Manage medications, injections, and infusions during labor.

Qualifications and Skills
  1. Education & Certification: Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery, TNMC registration, and a valid nursing license.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 3 years in labor wards, reproductive and child health (RCH), and operating theaters.
  3. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong English and Kiswahili communication, compassionate patient care, and collaborative team skills.
