Position: MIS Geo-Marketing Executive

Airtel Tanzania PLC is looking to hire a BI & Geo Marketing Executive. In this role, you’ll report to the Head of Planning & Reporting in the Marketing Department. You’ll manage all BI (Business Intelligence) processes at the OPCO level and oversee the rollout of new sites—from choosing the locations to tracking their performance after launch.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Manage BI Reports:
    • Oversee all BI processes across different teams.
    • Handle BI UAT (user acceptance testing) for new reports.
    • Ensure reports are automated, available, and accurate.
    • Act as the main contact for BI issues between OPCO, the group, and third parties.
  2. Generate and Circulate Reports:
    • Create and share key reports, both routine and ad-hoc, on time.
    • Reports include REC Build-up, Daily Revenue KPI, Site Performance Tracker, Regional CWN, Rec Waterfall, and more.
  3. Market Evaluations for New Coverage Sites:
    • Work with the Technical and Business Development teams to identify and assess new site locations.
    • Prepare business cases for new rollouts and get approval from the finance team.
    • Manage the inputs needed from Finance and Network for site rollouts.
  4. Track New Site Launches:
    • Monitor site performance and troubleshoot underperforming locations with the sales and technical teams.
    • Plan and coordinate the launch of new sites (including coverage, infill, and upgrades).
    • Implement device sales for specific sites, including UCSAF-activated locations.
    • Conduct network audits for new or underperforming sites.
  5. Diagnose Underperforming Sites:
    • Track sites making less than 7M per month and those with smartphone penetration below 20%.
    • Work with the sales and technical teams to boost performance.
    • Focus on 4G sites with smartphone penetration below 15%, and collaborate with the data and sales teams to improve.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or Telecommunications.
  • MBA in Marketing is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in Management Information Systems, data mining, and GIS applications.
  • Experience in the telecom industry (2+ years).
  • Database management and data analysis skills.
  • Familiar with GIS tools like MapInfo Professional.
  • Strong in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Great at planning and multitasking.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
