Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd has an exciting opportunity in the Manufacturing department. We’re on the lookout for a talented individual with skills and experience in manufacturing, supply chain management, and packaging to be based in Mbeya. The successful candidate will report directly to the Manufacturing Director.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll manage the full scope of manufacturing operations, including engineering, safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) along with utilities. You’ll be responsible for leading the heads of these functions within manufacturing.

Your tasks will also include:

  • Developing plant business and implementation plans to ensure we meet our customer service and productivity objectives for the region and CCBA.
  • Making sure we hit our productivity and budgeting goals.
  • Collaborating closely with logistics for smooth coordination across all supply chain business functions, focusing on continuous improvement for long-term performance.
  • Managing the manufacturing aspects of operational execution, like the flow of materials, production, and all supporting operations.
  • Focusing on execution, efficiency, and adding value to enhance the customer’s perception of our products.
  • Increasing manufacturing efficiency and eliminating bottlenecks.
  • Managing and maintaining manufacturing assets in optimal condition.
  • Leading the implementation and management of the Supply Chain Way.
  • Identifying and developing enablers to support the delivery of the Plant Business Plan and budget, including process, systems, and technology capabilities.
  • Building people capabilities to meet business improvement objectives.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to country management teams.
  • Overseeing the execution of the CAPEX process within the plant.
  • Engaging with local labor unions and managing all aspects related to industrial relations in the region.
  • Ensuring we have an engaged and capable workforce aligned with the strategic and operational goals of Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd.
  • Developing a strong health and safety culture for all employees in the plant.
  • Managing our talent pipeline.
  • Leading risk management and business governance processes.
  • Building relationships with local community and interest forums.

Skills, Experience & Education

You should have at least a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and possess:

  • Around 10 years of relevant corporate experience.
  • At least 5 years at a senior management level.
  • A strong track record of delivering results in a manufacturing role.
  • Deep understanding of the Supply Chain Way.
  • Knowledge of business principles in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordinating people and resources.
  • Proven experience in managing employee engagement.
  • Active participation in senior management teams to help meet company goals.
  • A bias for action and a focus on results.
  • The ability to think strategically and integrate complex information to develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong prioritization skills.
  • The capacity to lead and inspire others toward a common vision.
