Key Purpose of the Role

The main goal of this role is to safely operate and maintain packaging equipment. This includes the filling and labeling processes that significantly impact costs and consumer quality. We aim to achieve optimal effectiveness in everything we do.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Interpret and implement the production plan for your shift.
  • Operate both manual and automatic machines according to standards.
  • Monitor production processes during your shift and correct any negative trends.
  • Ensure process quality and productivity.
  • Complete necessary tracking and monitoring: Handle operator workstation administration and take action when needed.
  • Take care of Team room administration as required.
  • Focus on self-development.
  • Manage PIMS & POMS and act on negative trends.
  • Use QFRs as necessary.
  • Conduct 5 WHYs with the relevant team members as required.
  • Contribute to AB reports as needed.
  • Conduct autonomous operations.

Key Attributes and Competencies

  • Electrical aptitude is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a “can-do” attitude and the ability to work in teams.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn new skills.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of computer applications.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Kiswahili.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Training: At least 9 months of on-the-job training, SKAP completed.
  • Experience in the FMCG industry is a plus.
  • Understanding of VPO principles is helpful.
