Role Purpose:
This role provides lab support to ensure the highest quality and safety standards for our products.

Equipment and Workplace Upkeep

  • Calibration: Keep lab equipment precise and up-to-date.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure a safe, healthy work environment.

Sample Analysis

  • Sample Prep: Prepare samples for testing.
  • Conduct Analyses: Perform required tests.

Compliance with Quality Standards

  • VPO Activities: Follow VPO quality and safety practices.
  • Quality Systems: Ensure food safety and quality compliance.

Process Control

  • Sampling Procedures: Follow sampling guidelines.
  • Sample Integrity: Keep samples identifiable and intact.
  • Preparation: Prep apparatus, equipment, and reagents.
  • Lab Practices: Use proper lab techniques.
  • Accurate Results: Deliver timely and precise results.
  • Escalate Issues: Report any non-conformances.
  • VPO Compliance: Stick to VPO standards.

Lab Equipment Maintenance

  • Routine Calibration: Maintain and calibrate as required.
  • Record Keeping: Keep calibration records updated.

Safe Workplace Practices

  • PPE Policy: Always wear protective gear.
  • Hazard Management: Safely handle and store chemicals.
  • Safety Rules: Follow documented lab safety protocols.
  • Incident Reporting: Report and address issues promptly.
  • Housekeeping: Follow cleanliness schedules.

Specialist Analysis

  • Quality Checks: Perform specialized tests as needed.
  • Report Results: Record and share results.
  • Problem Identification: Spot issues and suggest improvements.
  • Plant Assistance: Help with in-depth quality analysis.
  • Equipment Calibration: Handle calibration for specialized lab tools.

Problem Solving

  • Support Teams: Help production teams solve issues.

Training and Development

  • Production Training: Help train teams in quality analysis.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Diploma in Lab Science, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
  • Skills: Proactive, leadership, computer skills, analytical ability, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, numeracy.
