Project: Technical Assistance for Green and Smart Cities SASA Program in Tanzania
Are you interested in making cities greener and smarter? DAI is looking for a Junior Non-Key Expert for Communication to help with a special project. This position supports the Green and Smart Cities SASA program, focusing on creating a better urban environment, boosting local economies, and offering more opportunities for women and youth. You’ll be a part of something big, helping cities grow in a sustainable way while improving the lives of many.
Job Description
As part of the Green and Smart Cities SASA team, you’ll help prepare and implement communication activities. A communication plan has already been started, but we need someone to update it and make sure it’s working well. Your job will include:
- Working with key partners, including local government and international organizations like GIZ, AFD, Enabel, and DAI.
- Making sure the program’s communication is clear and reaches the right audience.
- Organizing workshops to review the communication plan with project partners.
- Developing newsletters, brochures, and other materials to promote the program.
- Keeping a calendar of program events to plan communication efforts.
- Helping the local government (PORALG) keep its website updated with program information.
What You’ll Do
- Review and Update the Communication Plan: Work with partners to make sure everyone is on the same page about what the communication plan should include.
- Create and Share Program Materials: Design newsletters, brochures, and other tools to get the word out about the program’s progress.
- Support Website Updates: Help PORALG improve its website so it better showcases the program’s activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, social sciences, or related field.
- Language Skills: You need to speak and write in English really well. Knowing Swahili is a plus.
- Experience: At least 5 years in a similar role. You should be good with computers, summarizing data, and making reports.
- Reporting Skills: You need to be good at writing reports and keeping things clear and simple.
- Public Relations: Experience in running public relations campaigns is a bonus.
Location and Duration
You’ll be based in Dodoma, but you’ll travel to other areas like Mwanza, Tanga, Ilemela, and Dar es Salaam. The assignment is for 94 working days until the project ends in May 2026.
