Are you an HR pro looking to make a difference? This HR Manager role with Feed the Children could be the perfect fit! You’ll work closely with teams in Tanzania and internationally to build strong relationships, improve employee engagement, and support Feed the Children’s mission.
Job Highlights:

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- HR Policies: Develop and update HR policies for performance management, salaries, benefits, and more.
- Recruitment: Lead hiring processes, manage contracts, and assist unsuccessful applicants.
- Employee Onboarding: Design orientation schedules and conduct new staff inductions.
- Goal Setting & Reviews: Ensure staff and supervisors set 90-day and annual goals, supporting reviews as needed.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain efficient systems for employee records and HR documents.
- Workplace Support: Offer guidance to managers and staff on improving work relationships and morale.
- Policy Updates: Keep up-to-date on labor laws to ensure Feed the Children’s compliance.
- Training & Development: Plan staff training, create records of development events, and organize major HR events.
- Compensation Management: Oversee salaries, pensions, and benefits, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage conflict, discipline, and grievances according to policies and local laws.
- Payroll Coordination: Partner with finance to handle payroll and statutory requirements promptly.
- Admin Supervision: Guide and mentor the reception/admin staff.
- Compliance: Ensure NGO annual returns and other compliance tasks are completed on time.
Reports To: Regional HR Business Partner
Works With: Tanzania staff and International Operations team
Supervises: Receptionists and Admin Assistants
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Key Skills: Great people skills, time management, communication (written and verbal), strategic thinking, and organizational ability.
- Tech Skills: Microsoft Office and databases proficiency.
- HR Knowledge: Understanding of Tanzanian labor laws and US funding regulations like USAID is a plus.
- Experience: 5-7 years in HR, preferably in an NGO setting.
- Education: University degree in Business Management or Social Science.
