What’s the Role?

Position: Head of IT – 01 Post

The Head of IT & Management Information Systems (MIS) is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of IT and MIS within the organization. This position requires a dynamic leader who understands both microfinance operations and technological innovations.

Main Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning

  • Develop IT Strategy: You’ll create and execute the IT & MIS strategy that aligns with ASA’s goals.
  • Leverage Technology: Identify ways to use technology and data analytics to improve efficiency and enhance the client experience.
  • Stay Updated: Keep track of industry trends and new technologies to drive innovation.

2. IT Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee IT Design: Manage the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust IT systems, including hardware, software, and networks.
  • Ensure System Reliability: Make sure IT systems are reliable and secure, supporting uninterrupted operations.
  • Set IT Policies: Establish best practices and policies to safeguard data integrity and privacy.

3. Management Information Systems (MIS)

  • Enhance MIS Platforms: Lead the development of MIS platforms for data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Collaborate on Reporting: Work with stakeholders to define reporting needs and ensure accurate delivery of information.
  • Implement Analytics Tools: Use analytics tools to track key performance indicators and organizational performance.

4. Vendor Management

  • Manage Vendor Relationships: Handle relationships with IT vendors to ensure quality service and cost-effective solutions.
  • Negotiate Contracts: Evaluate and negotiate service agreements and pricing to optimize value.
  • Monitor Vendor Performance: Ensure compliance with contracts and monitor vendor performance.

5. Team Leadership

  • Recruit and Mentor: Build and mentor a high-performing IT & MIS team.
  • Foster Collaboration: Encourage a culture of innovation and learning within the department.
  • Provide Guidance: Lead team members to ensure their work aligns with the organization’s objectives.

Qualifications

To be a successful candidate, you should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing IT and MIS, preferably in microfinance or financial services.
  • Strong technical skills in IT infrastructure management, software development, database administration, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience with MIS platforms, data analytics tools, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A passion for using technology and data to drive business growth.

The Head of IT & MIS will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
