As the Head Chef, you’ll manage the kitchen and ensure guests have an amazing dining experience. Your responsibilities include training kitchen staff, managing budgets, and working with management to keep the culinary program in line with the company’s mission. You’ll also represent the company when interacting with guests and other stakeholders, upholding our culinary standards. Plus, you’ll collaborate with our Chef Trainer and Group Training Manager to develop kitchen policies and training programs.

Scope and Purpose of the Job

As the Head Chef, your main focus is to lead the culinary team, ensuring every dish is of top quality and guest satisfaction is high. You’ll handle menu development, food quality, kitchen operations, inventory management, and food safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

Menu Development and Quality Assurance

  • Create exciting, varied menus that reflect our food philosophy.
  • Approve and tweak dishes to ensure they’re up to our standards in taste and presentation.

Guest Experience

  • Make sure every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience that reflects our company’s standards.
  • Ensure every dish consistently meets or exceeds expectations.

Kitchen Operations

  • Oversee food prep, cooking, and plating.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene rules.
  • Lead a team of kitchen staff, assigning tasks and encouraging teamwork.

Budget and Inventory Management

  • Manage kitchen budgets, keeping costs under control.
  • Efficiently order supplies and maintain the right inventory levels.

Training and Development

  • Mentor and train kitchen staff, helping them grow in their roles.
  • Promote skill development and encourage collaboration within the team.

Qualifications

Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience as a senior chef, showcasing expertise in culinary techniques, menu planning, and kitchen management.

Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of culinary arts, including different cooking methods and ingredient pairings.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of cuisines and the ability to create menus that cater to various tastes and dietary needs.

Dietary Awareness

  • Skilled at accommodating dietary restrictions, allergies, and special diets with ease.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills for mentoring staff and interacting with guests.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, promoting inclusivity and respect.

Leadership

  • Proven leadership skills to motivate your kitchen team, set clear expectations, and maintain high standards.
