Essentials for the Role

To succeed as a Groups & Catering Manager, you should focus on the following essentials:

  • Training and Development: Ensure continuous training for all catering staff and maintain staffing levels as per company guidelines.
  • Staff Management: Help with hiring, dismissing, and promoting catering personnel.
  • Collaboration: Work with other lodge personnel to make the most of all available resources.
  • Customer Engagement: Meet with prospective clients to understand their needs and oversee the execution of their events.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Carry out appraisals for catering department members and ensure that customer complaints are handled promptly.
  • Group Management: Work with the Group Sales team to manage bookings and maintain accurate group rooming lists.
  • Creative Planning: Develop creative banquet menus and pricing structures, and conduct weekly meetings with support departments to review upcoming events.

Key Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be doing as our Groups & Catering Manager:

  • Maintain High Standards: Ensure all catering operations meet the highest standards of quality and service.
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate details of daily events with the Executive Chef and Banquet Services Manager.
  • Upsell Opportunities: Look for ways to upsell services to maximize revenue and ensure realistic objectives are met.
  • Manage Budgets: Keep an eye on the catering budget, ensuring all costs are controlled and clients are billed accurately.
  • Creative Leadership: Encourage creativity within the team and introduce new ideas to stay ahead of the competition.
