Position Title: Mission 21 Tanzania Financial Administration Officer
Location: Mbeya, at Mission 21's Tanzania offices

Reports To: Country Programme Coordinator, Mission 21 Tanzania and Secretary General of the Moravian Church (South West Province)
Job Overview
As the Financial Administration Officer for Mission 21 Tanzania, you'll handle the office’s finances, manage projects related to governance and human rights, and oversee the financial aspects of our programs in Tanzania. This role supports key country-level initiatives within the Mission 21 Cooperation Programme.
Key Responsibilities
Project Budgeting
- Help the Programme Coordinator prepare the yearly budget for projects and office operations.
- Ensure project budgets stick to Mission 21’s guidelines and limits, like the 15% cap on overhead costs.
- Track budgets against expenses and submit budget adjustments when needed.
- Assist in creating rolling forecasts to keep finances on track.
Project Accounting
- Handle petty cash transactions, document purchases, and manage weekly cash summaries.
- Authorize petty cash vouchers, track missing documentation, and report issues.
- Prepare withdrawal forms, budgets, and invoices for Coordinator approval.
- Record transactions in Tally (or similar software), manage payroll, and ensure expenses comply with Mission 21's standards.
Financial Reporting
- Generate monthly financial summaries and quarterly reports for the office and sub-projects.
- Ensure all financial documentation is in place, provide support to partners, and assist in audits.
- Compile annual reports for project funding, ensuring all expenses and receipts are documented.
Verification and Compliance
- Verify project expenses, check asset records, and ensure all spending is documented.
- Work with the Programme Coordinator to enter project data into the database accurately.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required.
Skills and Experience
- 3+ years in project financial management, including budgeting and reporting.
- Experienced in accounting software like Tally and proficient in Excel.
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili; knowledge of local languages in Mbeya is helpful.
