Location: Morogoro
Job Purpose
As the Factory Manager, your main goal will be to develop and execute the Mill’s manufacturing strategy. This involves focusing on long-term growth, ensuring maximum efficiency, and supporting sustainability efforts. You’ll also be responsible for making sure that production and packing targets are hit while managing budgets and cutting costs effectively.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Help shape the overall business strategy, ensuring goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) are set and met.
- Make sure manufacturing performance aligns across different areas to reach business objectives.
- Plan and set daily, weekly, and monthly performance goals with your team.
- Spot areas where there’s waste, loss, or other issues affecting workflow and work to fix them.
- Encourage a culture of high performance, reward strong results, and address areas that need improvement.
- Promote excellence in both operations and maintenance to boost profitability.
- Work with group partners to find and apply optimization strategies.
- Ensure that manufacturing plans meet commercial needs and contribute to efficient supply-side planning.
- Oversee capital projects to ensure they meet both economic and community goals.
- Push for continuous improvement, ensuring the right tools and methods are used to make operations more efficient.
- Keep team communication smooth to ensure consistent operations and sustained performance.
- Foster leadership by coaching, mentoring, and guiding team members.
- Follow company policies on Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Quality (SHERQ), Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Job Qualification and Experience
- A degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a Science field (or equivalent).
- A business or financial qualification would be a bonus.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing (production and/or maintenance).
- Strong business sense and expertise in manufacturing, with the ability to predict and react to changes in the industry.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
Terms of Service
The selected candidate will be offered a permanent contract.
