Position Summary: Business Manager – The East African Newspapers
We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic, experienced Business Manager to lead our Sales Executive team. This role involves strategic planning, guiding the sales team, and making sure advertising sales and revenue targets are met.

Role Purpose

As Business Manager, your goal will be to plan, coordinate, and oversee the Sales Executives team’s efforts, aiming to surpass sales targets and ensure top-notch customer relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Provide proactive, results-oriented leadership. Identify new sales strategies and work with the Advertising Manager to implement them with the Sales Executives.
  • Revenue and Customer Satisfaction: Use value-based selling with the sales team to hit revenue targets and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Target Achievement: Set sales targets for individuals and the team and ensure these goals are met.
  • Sales Meetings and Morale: Lead regular sales meetings to discuss progress and maintain strong employee relations and morale.
  • Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with major clients to ensure follow-up, address complaints, and keep the Advertising Manager updated.
  • Reporting: Submit monthly sales and collection reports to the Advertising Manager.
  • Sales Support: Review client lists, discuss plans with sales executives, provide guidance, and accompany them on sales calls as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Studies, or a similar field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in sales or marketing, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills.
