About Kilombero Sugar Company
KSCL is located in Kidatu, Kilombero Valley, and runs two large estates and sugar mills in the Morogoro Region. These are the Msolwa and Ruembe estates, separated by the Great Ruaha River. KSCL’s operations cover a huge area—26,000 hectares in total—with 10,000 ha owned by KSCL and 16,000 ha farmed by Kilombero Growers, a group of smallholder farmers.
Each year, KSCL produces around 126,000 tons of sugar. The company’s supply chain involves 8,000 local farmers, who deliver approximately 600,000 tons of sugarcane annually. Of all the sugarcane processed by KSCL, 45% comes from independent farmers, and the rest comes from KSCL’s own land.
