What You’ll Do

As an Electrical Technician, your day-to-day tasks will involve:

  • Inspecting Electrical Systems: You’ll check wires, circuit breakers, transformers, and more. If anything’s out of order, you’ll report it to your supervisor.
  • Installing New Electrical Systems: Get ready to roll up your sleeves and be part of the team that sets up new electrical systems!
  • Maintaining Catenary Systems: You’ll be responsible for keeping our catenary systems in top shape, including poles, foundations, contact wires, and various electrical devices.
  • Preparing Cost Estimates: You’ll put together project quantity and cost estimates to keep everything on track.
Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for the Electrical Technician position, you need:

  • A Full Technician Certificate (FTC), NTA Level 6, or an Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Salary

The salary for this role is set at TRCS 3.

Are You a Mechanical Whiz? Mechanical Technicians II Wanted!

Tanzania Railways Corporation is also looking for Mechanical Technicians II. There are 8 positions available for skilled individuals ready to make a difference!

Your Responsibilities

In the Mechanical Technician role, you’ll be doing things like:

  • Maintaining Rolling Stock and Locomotives: Keep our trains running smoothly with regular maintenance!
  • Workshop Machinery Upkeep: You’ll help maintain our workshop machinery and plants to ensure everything is in great condition.
  • Servicing Refrigeration and Air Conditioning: Ensure that our refrigeration and air conditioning facilities are up to par.
  • Mechanical Handling Equipment Maintenance: Keep all mechanical handling equipment in tip-top shape.
  • Record Keeping: Assist your supervisor in maintaining accurate records for all mechanical activities.
Qualifications and Experience

For the Mechanical Technician role, you’ll need:

  • A Full Technician Certificate (FTC), NTA Level 6, or an Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Salary

This position also offers a salary of TRCS 3.
