The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) plays a big role in developing, maintaining, and managing Tanzania's national road network. Created in 2000, TANROADS focuses on connecting people and places, reducing travel times, and improving road safety. They handle everything from planning and building roads to keeping up the existing ones. TANROADS works with the government, contractors, and communities, inspecting roads regularly and tackling repairs as needed.
Available Positions:
1. Resident Engineers (3 Positions - 1 Per Project)
Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Must be registered with ERB as a Professional Engineer and have a valid license.
- Additional qualification in Bridge/Structural Engineering is a plus.
- At least 7 years of experience in supervising or designing construction for bridges or similar structures.
- Experience as a Resident Engineer in three similar projects over the past 7 years.
- Fluency in Swahili and English.
Responsibilities:
- Help prepare sketches, maps, and reports.
- Check survey data for accuracy.
- Record survey results, including land features and dimensions.
- Set specifications for photography equipment in aerial surveys.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
2. Structures/Bridge Engineer (1 Position)
Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- ERB registration with a practicing license.
- Postgraduate studies in Civil Engineering add an advantage.
- 10 years of experience in bridge/road construction, including FIDIC contract management.
- Served as Resident Engineer on three similar projects over the last 10 years.
- Proficient in English.
Responsibilities:
- Review structural drawings and reports.
- Inspect and approve materials for construction.
- Maintain daily records, including reports and project-related correspondences.
3. Assistant Land Surveyor (1 Position for Bridge Project)
Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Diploma in Land Surveying.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying.
Responsibilities:
- Verify survey data accuracy.
- Locate beacons and benchmarks for construction.
- Conduct surveys to establish property boundaries.
4. Materials Technician (1 Position for Bridge Project)
Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with an FTC or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in a soil/materials lab.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the site team and oversee technical and administrative tasks.
- Manage quality control, prepare daily reports, and update costs for drainage works.
- Approve completed quantities of drainage works.
5. Topographical Surveyor (1 Position for Bridge Project)
Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying or Geomatics.
- Registered with NCPS as a professional Land Surveyor.
- Advanced qualification in surveying is a bonus.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct institution testing and track test trends.
- Prepare material testing reports and maintain records.
6. CAD Technician (1 Position for Bridge Project)
Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Diploma in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, or Land Surveying.
- Minimum of 5 years in related fields.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on design drawings and sketches for road or bridge projects.
- Keep a daily office diary and prepare reports.
7. Works Inspector - Drainage/Structure (1 Position for Bridge Project)
Qualifications:
- Tanzanian citizen with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
- ERB-registered Graduate Engineer with 3 years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee laboratory work and ensure specs are met.
- Apply QA/QC procedures for the project.
8. Materials Engineer (1 Position for Bridge Project)
Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering.
- ERB registration with a current license.
- Postgraduate studies in geotechnical/pavement engineering are beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Review structural drawings for compliance.
- Prepare mini progress reports and update drainage work costs.
9. Works Inspector - Road Works (2 Positions for Bridge and Kibondo Town-Link)
Qualifications:
- Tanzanian Citizen with a Degree in Civil Engineering.
- ERB-registered Graduate Engineer with at least 3 years of experience.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect road works for technical compliance.
- Monitor QA/QC procedures on the project.
